ARTIST STATEMENT:
"To me, the grim grit of reality is one of the most extraordinary forms of beauty, diffused layers that form truth from a momentary lapse in the stereotypical vision of aesthetic art.
"In a decaying society, art, if it is truthful, must also reflect decay."
Art is the dialogue between a second and a moment, the meeting point of two minds.
Art is about optimism a depiction of the uncomplicated hope witnessed in unassuming forms of conflict, a fraught state of presupposed and unconventional backgrounds.
It is a fondness of mine to use black and white as a medium that offers a powerful contrast; piercing yet sensitive to the subject.
Art as an end product should require no explanation, but the means to these photographs is a journey I wanted to share.
My belief is that we all have a holistic want, a need almost, for that ease that is tinged by the grime of realism. We revel in the impact of brutality and injustice in our daily existence, those horrific and profound images that stay with us always, the ecstatic ecstasy of life."
