Nick Dillon

Nick is a London Based freelance photographer.

 

 

"Back from when I used to sneak into gigs in Brixton Academy as a fourteen year old, live music has always been a passion of mine, so it was the obvious progression when I combined it with my other love; photography.

 

 

I got my start in music photography from shooting unsigned bands and working with independent music labels at small venues around London. It was in these venues that I learn the nuances of shooting live music; making the most of the often limited light and the connection between the band and the audience.

 

 

More recently I've moved into taking portraits of musicians, which in itself brings new challenges. The stage is the natural environment for the performer and in taking them out of that situation you get to learn much more about who they are as an artist."
